Unix and Windows System Administration (Local or Remote)

Having BEL administrate your servers may be significantly more affordable than paying full time system administrators of your own. Many of our clients own Unix systems which run their IT services, and have our admins take care of updates, security patches, and backups. We can do this for servers hosted with us as well as for systems hosted elsewhere. Charges are $110 CAD/hour, or based on a block rate, contact us for more details.

Emergency Support

We have expert technical staff on call 24 hours a day 7 days a week ready to respond in case of any emergency you may have. Contact us via our Emergency Paging System. We do our best to respond to emergencies within 30 minutes of our being paged. Our hourly rate for emergency support is $130 CAD/hour.

DNS

Some clients may prefer to have us host their DNS as opposed to their their hosting company.

Data Storage and Transfer

We have created a fully automated file transfer service, XoDigitalCourier. XODigital is ideal for transfering music, digital video or graphics, and provides each one of your customers with their own subuser account in your system. Sub users have access only to their files, while your superuser account has global access. Full monitoring is provided so you can monitor bandwidth usage.

Firewalls

A firewall is a network device that controls access to and from a network. BEL Firewall services are available upon request on all of our networks. As well, we can install and set up firewalls on servers not hosted with us.

Load Balancing

We provide load balancing services to customers who require high demand services to perform crisply and reliably even under heavy load. This is achieved by having multiple physical servers coordinated to provide the service. This approach also has the advantage of redundancy, where the failure of a single server does not bring down the service.

IP accounting

We host many resellers and servers for other hosting companies. Our custom IP accounting software allows us to provide a breakdown by IP of your traffic usage. This means resellers and colocation clients can bill their customers based on usage per IP.
